Necklace and Tantrums

I was dying to make this necklace. It was one of those things that I saw and I was inspired and the idea lived in my mind for days until I just had to sit down and do it. It was pretty easy and I really liked it. I used a pretty pink ribbon I had leftover from something else and some beads I had strung that had a broken clasp. I would have had to restring the beads to put a new clasp on so this seemed like a better idea.

I wish I had a picture to show you but well...the necklace is now living at the bottom of my purse.

Because it was ripped from my neck.

Oh Annabelle. I love you so. And she loved the necklace. I think I wore it mostly because she loved it. She loved the pretty flower I had glued on it. It made her happy.

The two of us went to a friends baby shower. It was a lovely shower. She was not feeling it though. She did not want to sit and listen. She was running around. Running away from me. Doing everything that fits the definition of defiance.

I was embarrassed and I don't embarrass easily. She was horrible. And I don't say that often.

She started in on a tantrum and pulled the necklace. Instead of chasing her I chased the beads. She seemed like a lost cause at that point and the beads I could save.

They are still in my purse.

On the way home I said, "Annabelle, you broke my necklace." She didn't say anything but I know in her little two year old brain she was sorry. At least that's what I tell myself.

She was getting sick. She spent the next week coughing (is still coughing) and I spent the next free day to craft making her hair clips. She deserved it. My necklace can wait.
