A New Headband for Annabelle

A sweet little headband for my sweetie. I had purchased a fat quarter of ballerina fabric. Annabelle loved it and I told her I would make her something with it. I finally decided to make her a headband because the girl loves headbands. I bought a dollar store headband, wrapped a strip of fabric around it and secured with hot glue.
I then got out my needle and thread and made a sort of half flower from a larger strip of fabric. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I think it is adorable.
I added some buttons with thread and secured it all with hot glue just for some extra life. Hair accessories usually don't last too long before they fall apart.
I think I like it. It looks cuter on her than off. She wore it to school and her teachers oohed and aahed. The problem I'm having is the fabric is fraying and I know I've heard of way to stop this from happening. I'm just not sure what it is. I do appreciate any tips!

  1. Use Fray Check! It's made by a company called Dritz. It should be by the sewing stuff at the fabric store. It's a clear liquid that comes in a little bottle. Works pretty well!
