Crafting with Kids:
A few tips
1. Never be afraid to make a mess while crafting with your kids. Put down paper towels, go outside, use a big plastic tablecloth, or whatever else you need to help you take care of the mess afterwards. Arrange for painting before bathtime or have the kiddos paint in their bathings suits and hose them down after.
2. Don't worry about how it will turn out. Every project isn't going to be "blog-worthy" but every project teaches kids important skills no matter how small it is. Scribbling teaches skills used in writing later on. Gluing and cutting uses their fine motor skills. It's all important and it's all fun!
One of my favorite phrases is "it's the process, not the product." I try to keep this in mind when I'm crafting with kids.
3. You don't need anything fancy to craft with your kids. Here's a short list of supplies to have on hand: crayons, markers, glue sticks, safety scissors, paper, watercolor set, stickers, coffee filters, paper towel tubes, paper plates.
With just these supplies and your child's imagination so much can be created.
4. There are a lot of great ideas in blogland. Here are a few of my favorite sites:
