Interview with Etsy Seller Baby Swank

What is your shop name and what do you sell?
My Etsy shop is called Baby Swank & I sell fashionable & eco-friendly products for babies & toddlers such as OOAK handmade baby & toddler bibs, natural skin care products, & crocheted washcloths.

How many children do you have and what are their ages?
I currently have 2 little guys ages 3 & 18 months. My hubbie & I are expecting our third little man this December! I'm so outnumbered!! LOL!

What is your daily schedule like?
My daily schedule is usually the same. I wake up & check my shop, answer emails, & spend a few minutes on social media sites. My kiddos wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, & then we visit Daddy at work. After that we do some school work {we homeschool}, clean the house, & make lunch. After lunch my kids take a nap & I work, work, work while I have quiet time. When they wake up they watch a tv show & have a snack then Dad gets home. After that it's always different. I try to spend as much time as I can with my family, but I do squeeze in a little bit of work here & there if possible. Once the kids are in bed for the night, I spend some time with my man & then work some more until I go to bed too.

What do you like most about being a work at home mom?
I love that I get to spend my day with my kiddos, I can work whenever I have time, & since it's my business, I can run it around my lifestyle. It's very flexible.

What is the biggest challenge as a work at home mom?
My biggest challenge is working too much & putting off other priorities. I'll get so involved in what I'm doing that I forget to do the laundry or forget that I told the kids "only one show"...things like that. I think time management is always a struggle when you work for yourself & especially if you have a family!

What is your best piece of advice for other moms?
If you have a creative business or you're thinking about starting one, my first bit of advice is to have a schedule or routine that works for you & your family. That way you know where you have time for your business among the other important things you need to do in your life. My second bit of advice is to have goals for your business. Start with 3 long term goals & break those down into short term goals. That way you have something to work toward during your work times each day or week.
