Interview with Etsy Seller Petite Tuques

1. What is your shop name and what do you sell?
My shop name is Petite Tuques and I make knitted hats, mittens, scarfs and other accessories.

2. How many children do you have and what are their ages?
I have two boys, aged 5 and 3.

3. What is your daily schedule like?

I am writing this before school starts, but basically I am up early with the boys and we’ll go through the motions of breakfast and tv, play time, lunch time, play time, supper time, get ready for bed, and bedtime.. and of course cleaning in between. When do I craft? In between times! And mostly after the boys go to bed.

4. What do you like most about being a work at home mom?

I like the fact that I have something to control. I can start and stop my projects where I want. When I am taking care of the kids, anything can happen at one moment. My youngest recently got bumped on the head, and I am able to be there for him, and not miss any deadline or appointment, that could happen if I still had my full time job outside of the home.

5. What is the biggest challenge as a work at home mom?

Finding the time for my craft. There are times that I would like to work long hours at a time, but I usually have to wait for my husband to be home and even then, the work is not interruption free.

6. What is your best piece of advice for other moms?
Do what you can, when you can. Don’t stress out – get a babysitter or grandma to come over once in a while to watch the kids while you work.
