Inspire Me Monday Features

Thanks to everyone for linking up this week to Inspire Me Monday!
There were 100 links!
So much inspiration and here are just a few favorites.

Christini Yogini shared this creation she made with her daughter's help! I love how she used an old t-shirt to make ruffles and yo-yos for embellishment.

My favorite flowers are daffodils. I love this bunting from NurtureStore.

And this cutie is sporting an upcycled dress her mommy made for her! It was skirt from the consignment store and now it's a dress. Looks like she loves it!

A little about

Is it time to start thinking about Mother's Day? Yes! I love making my gifts for my mom and mother-in-law. There is no one more appreciative of a handmade gift than a mother!

I was exploring my sponsor,'s site and came across the kit for Instant Scrapbook Photo Bracelets only $17.99.

It comes with all the materials to make it, even the photo paper to print your photos.

My mom would love a photo bracelet of all SIX of her grandkids! She would be showing that off at work ALL the time!

There's a lot to chose from at!

Thanks for stopping by!

Craft Book Review: Crafting a Meaningful Home

Crafting a Meaningful Home:
27 DIY Projects to Tell Stories, Hold Memories, and Celebrate Family Heritage.
by Meg Mateo Ilasco

The title of this book got me right off. "Crafting a Meaningful Home" sounds like what we all dream of doing. One of my New Year's Resolutions was to take more pictures of my kids and to DO something with them. Most of them are either on Facebook or, if they do get printed, stuck in a drawer somewhere. What a shame!
I thought this book would help me!
And it has. It's full of inspiring ideas and projects to make crafting more meaningful. What does that mean?
Well, I craft for many reasons.
To make money.
To run a business that is profitable enough for me to one day work from home. To tap into the creative side of my sleep-deprived brain.
To make something pretty that makes my daughter happy.
Mostly because it makes me happy!

I don't feel my projects have "meaning" however.

The projects in this book have meaning. Lots of it.

What I liked:
The whole idea of making meaningful crafts really inspires me. To hang something on my wall that I made that also holds my family's memories is so appealing to me. All of the projects are pretty simple too. No hard sewing patterns or hard to follow directions.
I also really liked the bios of the crafters that each project was from. It's always fun to learn about other crafters and what inspires them.

What I didn't like:
Nothing really! Maybe a few more projects but otherwise it is great.

Projects I will try:
I have always wanted to try to make silhouettes of my kids. There's a great silhouettes on canvas project I may try.
I always really like the Button Garland project. I have a bunch of buttons I found in my Grandma's sewing stuff that would make a really nice garland. It's a pretty simple project that would make a great display and memento of my grandmother.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spotlight on Sam's Crochet!

I've always really admired people who crochet and knit. I've always wanted to learn but never managed to (atleast not yet).
Take a look at the beautiful crocheted items at Sam's Crochet.

Apple Cozies! What a great gift idea!

I love this shoulder bag. And it's custom made! I personally know that Sam can make this in many colors and you'll just love it! Also, it can come with a cell phone cozy which I love! She's wonderful to work with!:)

Check out Sam's Crochet now! You won't regret it!
